CORAL
BLEACHING

Coral bleaching is a critical environmental issue where corals lose their vibrant colors and turn white due to rising sea temperatures, pollution, and human activities. This process not only threatens the survival of coral reefs but also disrupts marine biodiversity and the livelihoods of communities dependent on these ecosystems.

CONTEXT

Coral bleaching threatens coral reefs due to climate change, pollution, and other human activities. Stress causes corals to expel symbiotic algae, turning them white and often leading to their death, impacting marine biodiversity and coastal communities.

RESULT

The poster aims to ignite urgency and responsibility, calling for action to reduce pollution, mitigate climate change, and protect oceans. It seeks to educate and inspire efforts to save coral reefs for future generations.

This poster utilizes an intaglio technique, incorporating polluting materials found in the ocean, like fishing nets and plastic waste. These materials are printed in vibrant coral colors, with the words "coral bleaching" appearing as if bleached. This design emphasizes the impact of pollution and climate change on coral reefs.
